Welcome to Still Mormon: the show dedicated to unsettling Mormon History. In our intro episode, we ask the question: “Why are so many people in Mormonism becoming convinced that Joseph Smith did NOT practice polygamy?” We discuss the consensus narrative and why the expert historians and commentators paint those who question Joseph Smith’s polygamy with the pejorative: “POLYGAMY DENIERS”. We pose the question: what if people are deciding the case about Joseph Smith and polygamy based on BAD INFORMATION? We establish the purpose of the Still Mormon podcast: to show all of the evidence related to Joseph Smith and polygamy in an honest, transparent and methodical way so that the audience can make up their own mind on the subject based on GOOD INFORMATION and not BAD.
